The Emir of Gwandu, Mohammed Bashar, on Thursday, identified three different groups operating under the name of Boko Haram.
The traditional ruler stated this while receiving President Goodluck Jonathan at his palace in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State. The president visited the state for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign.
The emir said he was concerned about the state of security in the state and in the country. According to him, the radical Islamic sect has split into: the Professional Boko Haram, the Criminal Boko Haram and the Political Boko Haram.
"We urge you to continue to deal with them," he said, adding that he and his chiefs will continue to pray for the country and cooperate to ensure peace in the Northern region
Responding, Jonathan assured that his administration would continually work towards improving security in the country.
